The Boards Purpose
Is to provide strategic leadership to drive the club’s progress through our values and mission to become an elite pathway for our junior to senior athletes which is underpinned by continuous development of our coaches, players and administrators
Chair
Sean is the current Chairperson, a position he has held since 2020.
Sean owns and operates a business and holds an MBA is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
He has been Involved with Slammers from the time his two boys played WABL16s and 18s and became a Silver Sponsor in 2013 when Ty Harrelson was Men’s SBL coach and the ladies’ team were riding high from the 2012 Premiership
Sean Coached WABL for two seasons in 18’s Men’s and then was a bench assistant coach to SBL head coach Charles Nix in 2017 when the Slammers made finals and had a tight series against eventual champions in Perth Redbacks
Sean was major sponsor through his business Printsync and CSG for the 2016 to 2022 seasons.
Joining the board as a director in 2019 Sean took on the role of Chair in 2020 and has overseen the Board since then.
NBL1 DIRECTOR
Hi I’m Paul CraigI am the NBL1 Director. I have been involved with the South West Slammers for around 3 decades now. I played 152 games and am an inaugural member of our very first SBL team. I was a part of our second Championship in 1996 and the two following ChampionshipsI was an Assistant Coach of the Men’s NBL1 program under 4 different coaches, as well as a season with the Women’s programI also Coached for BWA at a National level with Western Australian Men’s State TeamsI am now proud to have take on the role of NBL1 Director to continue my commitment to the club

Chris has been involved with the Australind Basketball Association and is now the WABL director at the Slammers. He has a strong passion to help develop the South West’s next generation of basketball players.

Alongside his role at the club, Dan works as an NBA scout and has worked with the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz. He has also worked in Strategy & Analytics with the Perth Wildcats and spent time running Auckland in the New Zealand National Basketball League, where he served as President.
Before basketball took him around the world, Dan worked as a winemaker in Margaret River and completed a degree in Astrophysics.
Passionate about developing local talent and strengthening community connections, Dan is focused on helping the club grow and creating a positive environment for basketball in the South West.

Rebecca currently serves as the Leeuwin Naturaliste Coordinator on the South West Slammers board.
Rebecca has been involved with the South West Slammers for 4 years and with the Busselton Basketball Association for 6 years, including Busselton Blazers representative basketball. Her involvement spans multiple roles, including parent, team manager and now board member.
Rebecca has held managerial positions since 2006 and is employed in a global organisation. Since 2011 she has contributed to a range of local committees and boards, across sporting, school, & community groups.
Rebecca is passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all players seeking to develop their skills, and is committed to supporting South West Slammers in building and strengthening competitive teams across the South West region. Rebecca is an active and engaged member of her local community, regularly volunteering with various clubs and organisations, and brings a strong sense of loyalty, dedication, care and drive to all her endeavours.
Key Responsibilities
The board of the SW Slammers is tasked with the key responsibilities of:
- Good governance to ensure all processes adhere to rigorous standards and are updated regularly so that the future members have these key steps to follow
- Strategic Direction: Collaborating with BWA, our associations, sponsors and community stakeholders to define, approve, and monitor the organization’s long-term strategy of promoting development of basketball at the elite, professional level.
